About the technical advantages of heat exchangers
1. High heat transfer coefficient
The plate heat exchanger is a flow channel composed of different corrugated plates inverted each other, so the heat transfer coefficient of the fluid when passing through the pipe will be higher, which is 3 to 5 times that of the shell and tube type.
2. The logarithmic average temperature difference is large, and the terminal temperature difference is small
The fluid in the shell-and-tube heat exchanger flows in cross-flow with a small average temperature difference coefficient, while the plate heat exchanger adopts a co-current or counter-current mode, so that the temperature difference at the end is small, and the heat transfer to water can be lower than 1 ℃.
3. Small footprint
The plate heat exchanger has a compact structure. The heat exchanger in the volume is 2 to 5 times that of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger, and the floor space is much smaller than that of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger.
4. Easy to change the heat exchange area or process combination
As long as a few plates are added or reduced, the heat exchange area can be changed accordingly, and the process can be recombined by changing the arrangement of the plates.
5. Light weight
The plate thickness of the plate type is about 0.4-0.8mm, and the thickness of the shell-and-tube type is about 2.0-2.5mm, so it is much lighter than that.
6. Low price
Compared with the two heat exchangers of the same material and the same heat exchange area, the price of the plate type is about half lower than that of the shell and tube type.
